Italian Espresso Bacon

Morning doesn’t start until I have had my first coffee.  So it only seems natural that my bacon should enjoy a shot of Joe too.

As my 8-year daughter told me, it just tastes like more “intense bacon” (I may be paraphrasing here since she doesn’t know what intense means).  Kind of like me with espresso; happy and more intense.

If you love bacon.  I mean really LOVE bacon then this should be part of your morning routine, along with pushups and a brisk walk. I would eat the bacon first in case you don’t have time for the other two things.

And if you are feeling tired and dragging in the afternoon you should focus on sleeping better and cutting out the executive lunches with all those carbs.  Don’t eat this bacon expecting to get a jolt of caffeine.  Drink some coffee or a black tea or a soda (not ginger ale or root beer since they are pretty much just sugar water with no caffeine). And then you can have a slice of this amazing snack.

Espresso Bacon (and all of our other bacons) is Keto/Paleo/Cave Man/Gluten Free/South Beach and pretty much every other diet friendly.  So chow down. This is just amazing bacon with a hint of Italian Ristretto espresso.

This bacon is best paired with good food and uncompromising friends.  This bacon is a tribute to Maurizio.  I’m not sure that he will eat it on a regular basis since he tends to eat fresh salmon and avoid smoked meats, but he absolutely hates American “burnt” coffee.  So when I made this recipe I was sure to use a really good Italian roast and glaze it with a fine ristretto espresso.
